Software engineering (M814)
This online module explores the advanced concepts and techniques used throughout the software life cycle, for the effective production and management of large, complex, and long-lived software systems. It provides a holistic perspective of technical and non-technical factors involved in developing useful and safe software systems in complex social and organisational contexts. Students gain hands-on experience of software engineering practices, in both individual and team-working contexts.
Honours degree (or equivalent) in computing or a related discipline, or alternatively have at least 3 years relevant industry experience. Students also need to have completed software development (M813) prior to this module, or have equivalent professional software development knowledge. Applicants need to have a reasonable standard of spoken and written English to study successfully with us.
