This course combines the study of business areas, such as marketing, finance and strategy, with an in-depth examination of global environmental factors (economic, political and social) in which international organisations are operating; the course has a focus on developing international management skills and knowledge, including intercultural management, which culminates in an international consultancy project for an external client; it is suitable for students seeking to pursue a range of managerial careers in international commercial and not-for-profit organisations.
Good 2nd class Honours degree (or equivalent). Work experience is valuable but not essential.
Modules include: International management competencies; principles of strategic management; environment of the international manager: politico-economic dimensions; principles of financial accounting and statistics; strategic management practices; corporate social responsibility; research methods and dissertation.
Each module is assessed using a range of different methods including examinations, assignments, individual or group reports and group presentations. This range of assessments will help you to develop the analytical and presentational that employers within different organisations look for.
