Students on this course develop the all-round capabilities needed to be a successful accounting professional. These include teamworking, problem solving and communication, research and analytical skills.
A minimum of a good 2nd Class Honours degree in any subject. Students need to show significant evidence of numeric ability either from your undergraduate degree or from advanced school qualifications (for example an A-level or high grade GCSE in maths). Applications from students without these qualifications but with relevant work experience will be considered. If English is not the 1st language: IELTS minimum level 6.0, (with a minimum of 6.0 in reading and writing, and 5.5 in listening and speaking). Students that have completed their undergraduate degree in the UK (at least 1 full year of study) will automatically meet the English language requirements.
Business concepts and skills; managerial accounting and performance management; financial accounting and reporting; corporate finance concepts; finance and accounting research project. Elective modules 1 or 2 elective modules from a choice of: audit and assurance; corporate governance; corporate social responsibility; finance in context; financial modelling; international business in practice: study trip; international finance.
Assessment includes a range of activities including examinations, case studies, reports, presentations and group projects.
