Economics

The programme is for those whose undergraduate degree is in a subject area other than economics and who wish to pursue the study of economics. This 9 month programme consists of intermediate and advanced undergraduate economics modules. Upon successful completion you will qualify to enter our 1 year Master's in Economics programme.

Entry requirements

Normally a good 2nd class Honours degree, or equivalent, in any discipline. GCSE Maths grade A, or equivalent, is required unless evidence of subsequent quantitative training can be provided. students whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (with a minimum 6.0 in reading and writing components).

Course modules

Core modules include: Pre-sessional intensive maths training sessions; microeconomics 2; macroeconomics 2; statistical methods in economics; econometrics; economics, finance and international business synoptic. Optional modules include: Contemporary issues in economics; contemporary issues in finance; political economy of international trade; independent study.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include coursework and examination.
