International Hotel and Tourism Management

This specialist MSc course is develops ambitious students to become future leaders of the hospitality and tourism industry. Successful applicants will normally have a very good bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or tourism management and a minimum of one year's relevant work experience. It is accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development Programme Accreditation System (EPAS). You will build on your previous studies and work experience and develop your ability to think strategically across core management disciplines. Entry requirements

A good 2nd class Honours degree or equivalent. 2 satisfactory references (1 of these must be an academic reference). Prior work experience in the hospitality and tourism industry is not an entry requirement. Applicants who have limited work experience in the hotel and tourism industry can join the sandwich mode and undertake the professional practice module, which starts in January each year. English language requirements are IELTS minimum level 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in the reading and writing components and 6.0 in speaking and understanding or equivalent.

Course modules

Compulsory modules: strategic financial management; managing people across cultures; managing people across cultures; marketing across cultures; corporate governance and risk management in tourism; contemporary issues in international hospitality, events and tourism management; research methods; dissertation; Elective modules: you can choose one elective module from the following: tourism digital distribution strategies, events management, intercultural leadership, and revenue management. other electives may also be available.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based predominantly on individual coursework and the dissertation.
