Supervision is available for research in the following main areas: contemporary art; aesthetics; 20th-century British art; contextual art practices; post-colonialism, globalisation and photographic theory; social sculpture/art and social processes; sound technology and performance; text and context.
MPhil or MPhil/PhD: 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent; alternative qualifications considered individually; PhD: Master's degree in appropriate discipline (including research training and research project).
Bursaries for doctoral research are offered from time to time, and funding may also be available from the AHRC.
