Supervision is available for research in the following main areas: microbiology: cell systems modelling, molecular microbiology; cell biology: plant cell biology, insect virology/protein expression, molecular neurosciences, immuno-diagnostics and cancer studies; food science and nutrition; health science; ecology: spatial ecology and land use; butterfly biology, the carbon dynamics of peat bogs; environmental science: biogeochemistry, biogeochemical cycling in marine and atmospheric systems, atmospheric sampling.

Entry requirements

MPhil or MPhil/PhD: 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent; alternative qualifications considered individually; PhD: Master's degree in appropriate discipline (including research training and research project).
