Nursing, Children's (pre-registration)
This course is a qualifying programme for graduates with a suitable and relevant 1st degree. Focus is on developing a knowledge base in children�s nursing, which is evidence-based and strongly underpinned by research.
Honours degree 2.2 or above (or equivalent), preferably in a health or science related subject. Applications will also be considered from graduates with non-health-related degrees. GCSE maths, science and English at grade B or above. 1 recent academic reference. Experience of paid or voluntary work within a health care environment or relevant to the chosen field. Successful performance in the selection process (including an individual interview). All applicants are screened for fitness to practise and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be made. If an applicant's 1st language is not English then IELTS 6.0-7.0 overall with 6.0 in reading and writing, 5.5 in listening and speaking is required.
During Year 1 students will undertake modules at Level 6 (Honours level), and in the subsequent two years the modules will be at Level 7 (Masters degree level).
Assessment is by a Master�s level research project involving primary data collection; a critical review of the literature, or other scholarly output.
