Post-Compulsory Education and Training
This course includes a large proportion of your time spent on placement, you�ll have the chance to gain a wealth of real world experience preparing you for a fulfilling and rewarding career.
Academic requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant subject; GCSE English at grade C or above or a Level 2 equivalent; GCSE Maths Grade G or above, or a Level 1 equivalent; good information and communications technology (ICT) skills. If English is not your 1st language, you require: IELTS at level 7 with 7 in all 4 components or GCSE in English language at grade C or above; IELTS at level 6 and an undergraduate degree in the UK or IELTS at level 6.5 and a postgraduate degree in the UK. Non-academic requirements: Complete a satisfactory enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) Enhanced Disclosure, register with the Independent Safeguarding Authority and complete a criminal convictions self-declaration form; you must be deemed fit to teach. Entry onto these programmes is conditional on the University identifying a suitable placement and mentor. An interview is a pre-requisite for entry onto this programme.
Modules include: Curriculum and society; learning, teaching and assessment; theories and principles of managing learning environments; wider practice and professional development. Optional modules: theories and principles of teaching and learning mathematics: numeracy.
