The programme aims to prepare you to teach in a way that makes use of the latest developments and technology. You will be introduced to a range of modern scientific software and use and develop resources for interactive white boards. The placement experience will sharpen your skills and aims to prepare you for teaching.

Entry requirements

Your suitability for the programme is judged on a range of factors including academic qualifications, ability to work with other people and a real interest in learning and teaching. When selecting applicants for interview the admissions tutor will consider all parts of the application including a personal statement and references. Academic requirements: GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in English and mathematics; an Honours degree (2.2 or above) or equivalent, from a recognised university. Your degree should be in science or a strongly related subject. Master's and PhDs count towards entry requirements. A Master's degree will be considered as a 2nd Class upper degree and a PhD as a 1st. This will also apply to international applicants.

Course modules

Core modules: developing subject pedagogy; introduction to professional teaching and learning; professional studies; practical teaching.
