This programme explores a variety of research methods, before letting students specialise in their own areas of interest.

Entry requirements

A relevant degree with Honours or an equivalent professional qualification. Other qualifications accompanied by substantial experience in an appropriate field may also be considered. Non-standard applications will be considered on a case by case basis.

Course modules

Core module: philosophical foundations of social science; research planning and preparation; social research design. Optional modules: auto/biographical and creative approaches in social research; evaluation research, a critical overview; professional research apprenticeship option; qualitative approaches in social research; quantitative data analysis; research apprenticeship dissertation; research dissertation; theories and practice of education research; visual research methods.
