This programme is aimed at senior managers within the public sector or local government who want to draw together both the theoretical and practical aspects of professional and managerial experience. Focused on managerial and organisational practice, this programme provides opportunities for learning through collaborative processes, and enables students to take their new knowledge back to the workplace where it can be implemented to improve the quality of their practice.

Entry requirements

A Bachelor's degree with a 2nd Class Honours (or its equivalent) in a relevant field. Also extensive work experience which would normally be at least 5 years' management experience in any sector that provides public services.

Course modules

Year 1 modules: identifying and explaining theory; induction and introduction to doctoral study; professional doctorate thesis; public policy and thesis proposal. Year 2 modules: professional doctorate thesis; thesis proposal. The modules shown for this course or programme are those being studied by current students, or expected new modules.
