Electrical and Electronic Engineering

A range of multimedia services underpins the growth in entertainment, health and commerce. This programme focuses on practical and theoretical aspects of electronics and provides a solid foundation for engineering a wide range of electrical systems, such as embedded microcontrollers, renewable energy, power converters and high frequency communications. The substantial MRes project enables students to explore and develop in-depth knowledge on a particular area of interest.

Entry requirements

Applicants should a minimum of a 2.2 for MSc and 2.1 for MRes in electronic engineering or related subject. Applications from physical science or professional backgrounds may be considered. Entry to the MRes is via initial entry to the MSc. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: Advanced signal processing; integrated power systems; project; personal and professional skills; programming for distributed and embedded systems; research skills and project development.
