This course is suitable for civil engineering graduates who want to improve their technical knowledge and enhance their career prospects. The programme will deepen and broaden understanding of civil engineering and help students fulfil their professional role in creating, improving and protecting the environment. Students will obtain advanced analytical skills in the core subject areas of structural analysis, geotechnics and hydraulics applying their knowledge in a range of project settings.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a lower 2nd Class BEng Honours degree (2.2) in civil engineering or an upper 2nd Class BSc Honours degree (2.1) in civil engineering. Applicants who hold a non-UK civil engineering degree, will need the equivalent of an upper 2nd Class Honours (2.1). Applicants who have considerable professional experience and can evidence an academic ability to undergraduate degree levels may also be considered.

Core modules: advanced engineering analysis; advanced geotechnical engineering; advanced hydraulic engineering; advanced structural engineering; international engineering business management; Master's stage 1 placement preparation; dissertation, project management; professional practice.
