Occupational Therapy (post-registration)

The course is suitable for occupational therapists from a wide range of clinical settings; the course aims to create an intellectually stimulating opportunity for students to develop academic knowledge and research skills that enhance their practice; the course is suitable for international, UK and local occupational therapists who wish to develop knowledge of the evidence base in practice and to further develop critical thinking, clinical reasoning and research knowledge.

Entry requirements

Honours degree in occupational therapy; or relevant clinical experience and education.

Course modules

Research methods; dissertation; plus 3 modules from: evaluation and evidence based practice (full time international students); specialist practice through independent study; developing professional practice through work based learning; occupational therapy in mental health; the management of chronic pain.

Assessment methods

Case based work; presentations; essays; systematic and literature reviews; research proposal outline; development of a learning contract.
