Public Health Practice

This course enables individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds to attain competency in public health practice; it facilitates the acquisition of knowledge, understanding and skills necessary for working in a range of different posts in public health, health promotion and health improvement activities; it also meets the skills for health competencies for public health practice; 1 of the course's key strengths is the focus on learning through work-based placements and projects.

Entry requirements

Honours degree in a relevant subject; or relevant work experience and evidence of recent continuing professional development; satisfactory criminal records check; where your Honours degree has not been studied in English, an IELTS test overall score of 6.5 and no individual component score below 6.0.

Course modules

Research methods; public health perspectives; public health perspectives (work-based); evidence-based public health practice; epidemiology; promoting health of the population; working with and for communities; developing public health practice (work-based).
