Radiotherapy and Oncology

This course focuses on the professional elements required of a therapeutic radiographer; the aim of the programme is the further develop the analytical, theorectical and practical skills of graduates to enable them to become registered therapeutic radiographers.

Entry requirements

Science- or health-related honours degree; not suitable for people who already hold a qualification in therapeutic radiography; satisfactory criminal records check will also be required; for non-native speakers, IELTS at 6.5 or above (or equivalent).

Course modules

Science and technology; introduction to the human body; introduction to cancer and its management; professional practice; radiotherapy science; imaging processes; clinical work-based learning; radiotherapy and oncology practice 1 and 2; clinical work-based learning; dissertation (Master's only).

Assessment methods

Case studies; essays; presentations; dissertation.
