Podiatry

The course offers podiatrists registered with the health professions council the opportunity to extend their knowledge in specialist areas and research.

Entry requirements

A 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree in Podiatry; or a BSc degree with evidence of continual professional development; professional experience; applicants who have not studied their degree in English require an IELTS score of 6.5 and no individual component score below 6.0.

Course modules

Modules may include: Research methods; project; pharmacology for podiatrists; the ageing foot; tissue viability; current developments in podiatry; managing change in healthcare; working together in the management of chronic pain; evidence-based health and social care; developing professional practice work-based learning; podiatric mechanics; medicine and pathology; diabetes modules; appropriate modules from the Master's physiotherapy or Master's occupational therapy programmes.

Assessment methods

Performance is assessed by coursework assignments however some modules require an examination.
