Rehabilitative Audiology (post-registration)

This course is suitable for audiologists from a wide range of clinical settings who are interested in aural rehabilitation; the course aims to create an intellectually stimulating opportunity for students to develop academic knowledge and research skills that enhances their practice in rehabilitation audiology.

Entry requirements

A 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree in audiology or a relevant professional qualification and 3 years post qualified audiological experience and a continuing professional development portfolio; a satisfactory criminal records check is also required; applicants who did not study their degree in English require an IELTS score of 7.0 with no element below 6.5.

Course modules

Modules: Tinnitus and hyperacusis; advanced counselling: theory and practice; research methods; early communication intervention and paediatric habilitation; adult aural rehabilitation: advanced practice; dissertation

Assessment methods

Assessment is carried out through case-based assignments, reflective journals, research reports, electronic portfolio, online discussions as well as a final dissertation.
