Entry requirements

An upper 2nd Class Honours degree or higher in a humanities or social science subject from a UK university (or an equivalent international qualification) together with 2 supportive references is required. Candidates are expected to have good English language abilities and to meet the standard of the IELTS, or equivalent, at a level of 7.0.

Course modules

Compulsory modules: Geographical thought and practice; introduction to social science research (qualitative methods); optional modules: advanced readings in geography; art, performance and the city; cities, space and power; cultural geography in practice; democracy, rights and citizenship; empire, race and immigration; global working lives; migration and mobilities; researching development in practice (Mumbai unbound); re-theorising development futures; the theory and history of community organizing.
