Public International Law
Applicants must have a degree in Law, or a degree with a substantial law content, of at least 2.1 honours (or equivalent). Law graduates with 2.2 honours who also have other legal qualifications and/or substantial professional legal experience may also qualify. Non-law graduates: Non-law graduates with a minimum 2nd Class Honours degree, that have also obtained a Merit (or 60 per cent) in the Common Professional Examination (CPE) or Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) recognised by the UK professional bodies, may also qualify. Non-law graduates may also be considered on the basis of exceptional professional experience (of at least 5 years) in a legal area or an area directly related to their programme of study.
Modules include: Courts in comparative perspective; external relations law of the european union; international and comparative social justice; international criminal law; international economic law; international environmental law; international law of armed conflict and the use of force; international law of the sea; international law on the rights of the child; international tax law; international trade and investment dispute settlement; law of economic crime; law of finance and foreign investment in emerging economies; law of treaties; traditional knowledge and genetic resources; climate change law and policy; international natural resources law; cyberspace law; international trade and intellectual property law; international human rights law; terrorism and human rights; regulation of international trade; energy regulation and policy; international cybercrimes and investigations; indigenous rights: selected issues in practice and theory; international law and indigenous peoples ; terrorism and human rights: constitutional perspectives; migration, security and human rights; international refugee and migration law; international refugee law; international migration law; international investment law and policy; international investment law; regulation of international investment and public policy.
