The programme aims to: Prepare graduates for future success by enhancing the utility of their first degree by preparing them for a management-related career; provide effective systems of learning, academic guidance and pastoral support to encourage the academic, intellectual and personal development of students; equip students with an understanding of organisations, their management and the changing external environment in which they operate; provide a stimulating suite of learning activities that introduces students to contemporary management ideas and practices; maintain a supportive working environment in which there is respect for social and cultural differences and openness, fairness, and equality of opportunity in relation to selection, learning, assessment and support.
International students must be able to demonstrate their proficiency in English in order to benefit fully from their course of study or research. Non-EEA nationals must also satisfy UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) immigration requirements for English language for visa purposes. Evidence of an IELTS* score of 6.5, with not less than 5.5 in any component, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the University is required. *Taken within the last 2 years.
Modules include: Accounting for managers; finance for managers; operations management in the new economy; winning markets; people and the 21st-century organisation; research methods for business; strategy-making for tomorrow's manager.
Assessment methods include: Individual coursework, group work, oral presentations, poster presentations, simulations, case studies, class tests, examinations and dissertation.
