Human Resource Management
This programme is primarily aimed at providing students with the skills and knowledge to pursue a career in people management in all areas of the economy. Students gain an in-depth knowledge of key aspects of human resource management, for example, design and implementation of award strategies; design of successful employment involvement schemes, including types of participation; and communications strategies. The programme also includes a detailed examination of key elements of human resource management at a strategic level.
International students must be able to demonstrate their proficiency in English in order to benefit fully from their course of study or research. Non-EEA nationals must also satisfy UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) immigration requirements for English language for visa purposes. Evidence of an IELTS* score of 6.5, with not less than 5.5 in any component, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the University is required. *Taken within the last 2 years.
Modules include: Accounting for managers; human resource management (HRM) in context; HRM theory and strategy; performance management; managing employment relations; organisational design and development; research methods for business; resourcing and talent management.
Assessment is by a variety of methods.
