The School of English offers programmes which map onto its research clusters: Broadcast literacy; contemporary American literature and culture; creative writing; English speech and language; Irish literature; Medieval studies; modern literary studies; poetry; Renaissance studies.

Entry requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent; a diploma or equivalent qualification may be considered; applicants whose 1st language is not English are required to have either obtained their degree in a majority English speaking country or to have achieved a suitable IELTS (score of 6.5 overall, with 5.5 in each individual component) or TOEFL qualification.
