Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent; a diploma or equivalent qualification may be considered; applicants whose 1st language is not English are required to have either obtained their degree in a majority English speaking country or to have achieved a suitable IELTS or TOEFL qualification.
Research areas include: History of classical Greece, especially Athens; Greek forensic oratory; lexicography; aspects of military treatises and warfare; the development of Christianity in the Roman Empire; the history of Roman Judaea; Josephus; the Roman army; warfare and society; military treatises; land survey and distribution; rivers, topography and ecology in the Roman world.
