Research strengths include: Centre for the Theory and Application of Catalysis (CenTACat): Supports research in catalysis where chemistry meets other disciplines, especially engineering; innovative molecular materials (IMM): Concentrates on the key themes of molecular information handling and functional materials; Queen's University Ionic Liquid Laboratories (QUILL): Centred on ionic liquid technology; synthesis and biological organic chemistry (SynBIOC): Developing an integrated synthetic and biological research programme to deliver compounds addressing the regulation of cellular functions.
Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent; a diploma or equivalent qualification may be considered; applicants whose 1st language is not English are required to have either obtained their degree in a majority English speaking country or to have achieved a suitable IELTS (score of 6.0 with 5.5 in each individual component) or TOEFL qualification.
