A medical (MB) or dental degree (BDS) or equivalent qualification acceptable to the university, or a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent qualification acceptable to the university in a relevant discipline (eg anatomy, biomedical science, human biology). Interviews may be required. International students must be able to demonstrate their proficiency in English in order to benefit fully from their course of study or research. Non-EEA nationals must also satisfy UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) immigration requirements for English language for visa purposes. Evidence of an IELTS score of 6.5 taken within the last 2 years, with not less than 6.0 in any component, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the University is required.
Core modules: Applied anatomy of the abdomen and pelvis; applied anatomy of the head and neck; applied anatomy of the limbs; applied anatomy of the thorax; dissertation (for masters students only); optional modules: Current medical imaging; educational inquiry (open only to clinically qualified individuals); educational leadership and management (open only to clinically qualified individuals); evolution of the human body; foundations of clinical teaching (open only to clinically qualified individuals); supporting and assessing students and trainees (open only to clinically qualified individuals).
Assessment methods may include: short answer/single best answer tests, practical assessments, log books; portfolio as appropriate; dissertation (for Masters students).
