Finance with Specialisations

This is a specialised degree which focuses on banking; it simulates the real-life experience of working in finance through training on the Thomson-Reuters Eikon platform, and guest lectures from industry specialists; students look at how the theory and research they study applies to today's reality, by discussing topical issues, such the Eurozone crisis, considering a range of different perspectives, its causes, and potential solutions.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a lower 2nd Class (2.2) UK Honours undergraduate degree or its international equivalent from a recognised institution. Other equivalent international qualifications as recommended by the National Academic Recognition Information Centre will be accepted. If you are unsure as to the comparability of your qualification, please contact us. Your undergraduate degree must be in a business, financial, mathematical or analytical subject. For those applicants whose mother tongue is not English, we require proof of your English proficiency. Course modules

Term 1: Corporate finance; corporate valuation; investment analysis; research methods (pre-session).
Term 2: Bank risk management; monetary policy and central bank operations; research methods; elective modules: banking regulation; bond markets and credit derivatives; trading and hedge funds.
Term 3: Dissertation.
