Accounting and Finance

The course has been recently updated to provide enhanced focus on theoretical and practical accounting and finance skills. The course is a conversion Master's course for graduates who have completed a 1st degree in any field of study and who now wish to develop a career in accounting. This course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and independent thinking abilities which are essential for developing a career in the accounting sector, within banking and financial institutions, or in the field of corporate finance. Given the nature of modern business, this course may also be useful to graduates seeking to develop a career in general management or management consultancy.

Entry requirements

A good honours degree in any discipline. Applicants having degree equivalent qualification and relevant work experience at a suitable level within an organisation for an appropriate length of time may be considered, as may qualifications from an approved professional body. All international students, for whom English is not their first language, must provide evidence of linguistic ability, by gaining either IELTS 6.5 or its equivalent in TOEFL.

Course modules

Modules include: Finance theory; quantitative methods for finance; financial information and decision making; external reporting; corporate financial management; research methods; portfolio investment and wealth management; dissertation.
