Robert Gordon University
This new Postgraduate Certificate Mediation course integrates practice with the growing body of research and theoretical work. It provides practical mediation training at a high level leading to a postgraduate qualification. The course is suited to those who wish to qualify as mediators and will appeal to anyone with an interest in mediation. It is taught part-time over one year. Study is primarily on a distance learning basis which offers flexibility of study to those in employment. On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate Mediation.
Students would normally be expected to have an undergraduate degree (or the equivalent). Applicants who do not meet this requirement may still be admitted to the course if, at the discretion of the course leader, s/he has sufficient industry experience, when combined with non-degree level educational qualifications, to be exempt from the usual undergraduate degree rule.
Semester 1: theory and principles of conflict resolution; mediation in practice. Semester 2: mediation in context; advanced mediation practice.
