Construction Project Management

This course develops the interpersonal skills required for effective project management. It also develops judgmental, managerial and leadership qualities, building on the students' knowledge and experience gained in first degrees and/or the work environment. You are provided with a professional experience that allows you to pursue your personal objectives in the areas of property and project management, construction management and consultancy, and research in the built environment.

Entry requirements

Applicants should normally have a good Honours degree in a cognate subject, 1 related to the built environment or engineering. However, applications are welcomed from students who hold qualifications in the arts, sciences, management and law and, subject to an interview, you may be able to join this course. Applicants who do not hold an Honours degree but who have a relevant professional membership of a recognised professional body will normally be considered favourably for recruitment. Applicants who do not hold an Honours degree but who have relevant industry experience over a reasonable time period will be considered for recruitment subject to an interview. For international students 6.5 IELTS or its equivalent is required.

Course modules

Core modules: Project information, organisation and behaviour; construction project management; design management; sustainable development; risk and safety management; project planning and control; built asset procurement and contractual arrangements; dissertation. Choose 1 module option from the following group: Building information modelling (application); petroleum economics and asset management.
