Architecture (part 2, direct entry year 5 and 6)

The study of architecture requires an enquiring and imaginative mind, to analyse and consider new possibilities for buildings that will improve people's quality of life. This course, which is accredited by the RIBA and ARB, will provide you with the professional and creative skills required for a successful career in architecture. The taught course is complemented by a year's practical experience, allowing you to gain valuable experience of architectural practice. You will also have the fantastic opportunity to travel, whether on study trips to look at the very best of international design or on student exchanges in a partnership institution for 1 semester.

Entry requirements

To be admitted to the programme, you need to satisfy the following: An undergraduate degree in architecture from a recognised school with an overall performance in the final year of 50% or above (if Honours degree 2.2 or better); most applicants will already have, or be exempt from ARB and RIBA part 1, but this is not compulsory; submission of a satisfactory portfolio of design work.

Course modules

Modules include: Design studio; design philosophy; research methods; dissertation; building technology; professional practice and management; 1 elective.
