Research interests cover a wide range of literary, cultural and historical themes; literary interests extend from medieval literature, through the renaissance, to the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st Centuries; major themes currently include: Occitan literature, Troubadour poetry, vision and imagination in the renaissance, demonology in early modern France, comedy, gender and spectatorship in 17th and 18th century drama, naturalist writing, literature and the visual arts 1850 to 2000, the representation of the body in fiction, autobiography and related genres, modern and contemporary French poetry and fiction, poetry and translation, philosophy and ethics, the holocaust, cultural memory and marginality, women's writing and film, consumerism and globalisation in post-war France, gender and history in French and francophone film, Paris, sociolinguistics, phonetics and phonology.
Minimum 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent, relevant language may be required.
