Central areas in which research supervision is provided are as follows: the Italian chivalric Carolingian epic; Renaissance literature and the history of the Italian book in the Renaissance; the development and consequences of mass cultural forms (cinema and popular press) in the modern period; artistic and cultural relations between Britain and Italy in the 19th-century; modern literature, especially modern poetry, the 20th-century detective novel and Italian theatre; relations between music and literature in the mid 20th century; language and discourse in diverse contexts of spoken and written use, including narrative, theatre, and national and international institutional settings.
Minimum 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent, relevant language may be required.
25,000 word dissertation.
