An Honours degree.
PhD is awarded to students who produce a substantial piece of original research in the form of a thesis of up to 100,000 words. MPhil is awarded for original research and submission of a thesis of up to 55,000 words.
ESRC (Department is recognised by ESRC under modes A and B) and MRC awards may be available to UK/EU students (fee-only basis for EU candidates); College studentships are also offered and students may seek funding from variety of external organisations.
