Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Students develop their skills in managing global and international supply chains on this accredited course. As a SAP University Alliance member, SAP software modules give practical experience and students can take examinations which lead to SAP qualifications. Industry research projects and industry visits and speakers enhance the learning experience. Students: experience modern systems such as SAP, Arena and SupplyChainGuru to enhance career potential; complete a SAP training academy and take examinations which lead to SAP qualifications; apply what they learn in industry or leading edge research projects; work towards registration with the Chartered Institution of Logistics and Transport.

Entry requirements

UK students: normally 1 from: an Honours degree (2.2 or above) in a science, management, business studies or engineering subject; suitable professional qualifications in engineering, management or supply chain management; a degree in any discipline plus at least 1 year of relevant experience; a diploma in a technological area plus at least 3 years of relevant experience. Overseas students: overseas applicants from countries whose 1st language is not English must normally produce evidence of competence in English; an IELTS score of 6.0 with 5.5 in all skills (or equivalent).

Course modules

Modules include: finance and marketing; project and quality management; strategic sourcing and procurement; lean operations and 6 sigma; supply chain modelling and simulation; global supply chain and manufacturing strategy; warehouse systems and transportation; logistics and enterprise information systems; MSc project and dissertation.

Assessment methods

Examination, coursework, project reports.
