This course takes a practical approach to the study of urban regeneration. Students take part in real-life case studies and projects, and develop professional skills required in urban regeneration roles, such as project management. They also develop an essential theoretical understanding of regeneration policy and practice. Students: benefit from our experience with over 15 years teaching urban regeneration; gain professional membership of up to 3 professional bodies; have the opportunity to go on an interdisciplinary, international field study week.
Typically a degree, or at least 2 years� experience in a related field. If English is not applicants 1st language: IELTS 6.0 score with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills or equivalent. Alternatively a Sheffield Hallam University pre-sessional English course will enable students to achieve an equivalent English score.
All years: regeneration and housing policy and practice; social regeneration and community engagement; sustainable economic development; leadership, partnerships and change; planning and development process; global interdisciplinary perspectives and practice; plus optional modules; urban design; housing regeneration; neighbourhood management; inward investment and business development; sustainable communities; consultancy project; geographical information systems; creative cities.
Includes coursework, practical assignments and projects. There are no formal examinations.
