Construction Project Management
This is a fast-track conversion course to construction project management and work in the construction industry. The course is suitable for current professionals looking to develop their career prospects. Students have the opportunity to work on a real construction project with guidance from experienced professionals. Students become a member of 1 or 2 professional bodies on this dual-accredited course. Hands-on projects give students the skills and knowledge essential to the profession. Plus students may take the opportunity to gain international project management experience on a study trip to Shanghai.
A good Honours degree or equivalent in any discipline. If English is not applicants 1st language: IELTS 6.5 score with a minimum of 6.5 in writing and a minimum of 5.5 in all other skills or equivalent. Alternatively a Sheffield Hallam University pre-sessional English course will enable applicants to achieve an equivalent English score.
Modules include: construction fundamentals; professional skills; law for the built environment; economics for the built environment; construction project management; planning development and sustainability; contract administration; project procurement; project financial management; investment and finance; structural principles; refurbishment project; international project.
Assessment methods include: coursework; projects; examinations.
