Students develop their ability to manage and lead in different educational environments: e.g. children�s centres; higher education establishments; or health-and-social-care-related education. This course can help them to progress to middle or senior leadership positions. Students: improve their specialist knowledge in a work-specific area with a research project; choose different routes of study depending on their career aims; enjoy flexible learning via distance learning each Saturday, alongside email and phone contact with lecturers.
Normally a degree or equivalent, and some relevant professional experience; non-graduates with relevant managerial experience are encouraged to apply; if English is not the student�s 1st language they need an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with 6.5 in reading and 6.5 in writing.
Modules include: educational leadership of change; leading in partnerships and networks; leadership of learning through data; reflecting on professional practice; educational enquiry.
Each module is assessed by a single assignment of 5-6,000 words. The report for the major project is 12-15,000 words.
