Health Care Management and Leadership

This course is designed to promote corporate and organisational medical leadership of health care. Medical practitioners work together to develop a shared understanding of the international wisdom and evidence of health care management and leadership practice. The course enables students to achieve an advanced level of management and leadership, knowledge and skill, that can contribute to the development of their healthcare systems. Students develop a critical understanding of health care management and medical leadership methods.

Entry requirements

Typically either a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a health-related subject or an equivalent professional qualification, or a degree in a health-related subject and previous or current work experience in health care, either as a clinician or manager. If English is not the student's 1st language they typically need an IELTS 6.0 score with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills, or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: international approaches to learning for leadership; public administration; managing people and organisations; managing quality and effectiveness in health care; innovation and entrepreneurship in health care; change management and organisational development; research methods in health and social care; dissertation.
