Advancing Physiotherapy Practice

Study a course designed for physiotherapists who want to improve their clinical, therapeutic and reflective skills. It enhances your proficiency as a learner by integrating and applying practical skills, theory and research. Apply your learning to practice or experience teaching and supervision from tutors whilst in clinical practice. Choose modules that improve your practice and skills across a range of specialisms. Entry requirements

Applicants typically require an approved degree in physiotherapy with work experience. Applicants without relevant work experience require a 2.1 Honours degree or above or equivalent. Students whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Course modules

Postgraduate certificate core modules: Advancing clinical reasoning; improving clinical effectiveness; optimising therapeutic outcomes. Choose one postgraduate certificate option from: Pain management; neurological pathology and management; concepts of learning and teaching; personalised study module. Postgraduate diploma core modules: Improving therapy services; project design and planning. Choose one postgraduate diploma option from: Contemporary musculoskeletal rehabilitation; advanced practice in neurological therapy; advanced practice in cardiorespiratory therapy: sports injury management. Masters: Dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include presentations, practical assessments, vivas and written assessments.
