The course gives the student a broad foundation for career advancement and prepares them for further study with key professional bodies; the course is designed with imput from financial institutions, with a distinctive feature of the course being its focus on present-day national and global developments in banking and financial markets.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree in a relevant subject. A recognised postgraduate certificate. An equivalent recognised professional qualification.

Course modules

PG Cert modules include: finance; methods of enquiry; banking and financial markets; financial risk management.
PG Dip modules include: international treasury management; risk management of financial institutions; financial regulation and supervision;
plus 1 optional module from: corporate finance; Islamic banking; fund management; consultancy project 1.
MSc modules include: research methods; dissertation (either research-based or applied research for industry).

Assessment methods

Assessment by: coursework; examinations; dissertation.
