Leadership and Management (flexible management development programme)

This course has a flexible programme of management modules and is designed to improve students' leadership and management skills and those of their organisation. Students can join at any time and fees are charged on a pay-as-you go basis. This enables individuals or organisations to create bespoke training tailored towards specific goals. Students: learn how to plan strategy and achieve goals more effectively; choose from management topics that include professional change and relationship management; use modules from this course for continuing professional development; pay course fees at the point of delivery, giving real choice in training.

Entry requirements

Normally either a 1st degree or an equivalent recognised professional qualification in any discipline and substantial knowledge, experience and skills in a relevant field; applicants without a 1st degree are considered on the basis of their professional and work experience and any other formal qualifications that they hold; if English is not the student's 1st language they need an IELTS score of at least 6.0 with 5.5 in all areas.

Course modules

Postgraduate certificate: the nature of management; organisations and people; leadership and strategy for change; plus 1 option module; postgraduate diploma; management research methods; work-based learning or 2 chosen from; strategic thinking and analysis; strategic marketing; consultancy theory and processes; finance. MSc: dissertation.

Assessment methods

Varies depending on the modules selected. The most common form is continuous assessment by assignments related to the student's organisation.
