Global Creative and Cultural Industries

This programme is designed to develop a thorough understanding of the creative and cultural industries are supplemented with pathways that allow students to focus on music, art/archaeology, media or film, and a set of practical multimedia skills courses.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have a 1st or good 2nd Class Honours bachelors degree from a UK university, or equivalent, in a subject appropriate to that of the programme to be followed. If an applicant does not have a bachelors degree in an appropriate field they may be required to complete a qualifying year or a 1 year diploma before entering the Masters programme. Relevant work experience may also be taken into consideration; individual courses may have specific entry requirements, so students are advised to consult the postgraduate prospectus for further information.

Course modules

Analytical approaches to the global creative and cultural industries; dissertation in global creative and cultural industries; the music business (Master's); curating cultures; issues in contemporary South East Asia art; museums, anthropology and the arts of Asia and Africa; photography and the image in Africa; studies in global media and post-national communication; digital traditional broadcasting communication; directed study in industry; sound recording and production.

Assessment methods

Dissertation.
