This degree programme has been designed to meet the requirements of students who wish to specialise in performance while studying for an academic degree; the performance programme, in which students choose an Asian or African performance tradition, is examined in 2 parts, the 2nd requiring evidence of practice-based research; to supplement these.

Entry requirements

Minimum upper 2nd Class Honours degree (or equivalent), usually in music.

Course modules

Performance theory; performance; performance as research; composition; gender and music (Mmus); sound recording and production; the music business (Master's).

Assessment methods

Dissertation.
