This programme allows students to study Islamic law and its application in a broad range of legal areas, including finance and human rights, as well as its relationship to society in the Middle East and North Africa.

Entry requirements

Minimum upper 2nd Class Honours degree (or equivalent) in law.

Course modules

Critical jurisprudence in Islamic law and society; human rights and Islamic law; Islamic law; law of Islamic finance; law and society in South Asia; law and society in the Middle East and North Africa; foundations of comparative law; religion and comparative constitutionalism; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Dissertation.
