Applied Sports Nutrition
A 1st degree, normally 2.2 or above, in either: nutrition; sports and exercise physiology; dietetics; sports rehabilitation; sports coaching; sports science; physiotherapy; strength and conditioning. Relevant and appropriate experience will be considered. All applicants are expected to demonstrate interest, enthusiasm and continuous professional development in the field of sports nutrition. Relevant credits, i.e. credits at an appropriate level and in an appropriate subject, earned in another institution or in other institutions, in the European Community or elsewhere, may merit exemption from a proportion of the programme. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
Depending on initial academic background students will take 1 of the following 2 modules: principles of human nutrition; physiology and metabolism of exercise. Core modules: sports nutrition; applied sports nutrition; special populations, applied sports nutrition; advanced anthropometry; research methods and statistics; major independent research project.
