Catholic School Leadership

This programme will be of interest to all who hold or are aiming for leadership positions in Catholic schools and colleges. The course aims to promote a vision that sees the maintenance of a balance between school improvement and Catholic distinctiveness as a feature of the mission of schools and colleges.

Entry requirements

The course is open to all who have a 1st degree and who are committed to Catholic education or who have relevant experience of working in Catholic schools. Holders of NPQH can gain exemption from up to 60 credits, reducing the number of assignments halving fees for 2 of the 4 content modules. Holders of the NCSL 'Leading from the Middle' and 'Leadership Pathways' qualifications can gain similar exemptions from 1 module.

Course modules

Modules include: Catholic education; leadership and management; spiritual and theological foundations; leadership and learning; research methods and dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include: a 4,000-word assignment; contributions to online tasks and discussions; submission of a 20,000-word dissertation exploring the principles and practice of Catholic school leadership.
