At least a 2nd Class Honours degree from a recognised UK/overseas university. The degree should have an education or social science (e.g. sociology, education studies, psychology) component to ensure some working knowledge of the field. Applicants who do not have an Honours degree will have to have appropriate professional experience working combined with evidence of capacity to study at Master's level. Non-native speakers of English must achieve a score of at least 6.5 in the IELTS test of English language proficiency (or equivalent). This must include a score of at least 6.0 in each component.
Modules include: learning difficulties (cross-cultural comparisons); literacy, class and culture; gender (theory and practice in context); leadership in context; international perspectives on early childhood (UK and Northern European contexts).
Assessment is by coursework and individual oral presentations.
