St Mary's University, Twickenham
Education, Culture and Society
The programme seeks to promote critical modes of thinking and is concerned with understanding the relationship between children and young people's learning environments as it relates to wider societal and cultural concerns. It is broad in its theoretical scope and, by drawing on cross-cultural perspectives, students are able to critically reflect on their own practices and working contexts. This programme has been specially designed for professionals working with children and young people in a wide range of settings and focuses on issues of social justice, fairness, equality of opportunity and developing sensitivity towards, and understanding of, the needs of children, young people and learners from across the social spectrum.
