This is the postgraduate stage on the route to becoming a solicitor and represents a practical training for the solicitors' profession, where students learn how to put law into practice. Most students study the LPC after completing the academic stage of training by means of passing a law degree or Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL).
Core practice areas: property law and practice; litigation; business law and practice; pervasive areas of professional conduct and regulation; wills and administration of estates; solicitors' accounts rules. Electives include: corporate and commercial client; commercial property; employment law; family law; advanced criminal practice; advanced civil litigation and dispute resolution; private client.
